Where is My Equality?// Poster Design// Zine Design// Carpet Design// 2023

High heels are like a symbol, which prompted me to consider the cultural connotations associated with them in contemporary Chinese society.

After conducting extensive research, I concluded that women’s high heels serve as metaphorical mirrors that reflect the stereotypes held about them.

Some women believe that wearing high heels transforms them into women, while some men believe that wearing high heels is a sign that they can disparage a woman.

What’s more intriguing is that this phenomenon is inverted in the Chinese workplace, where women wearing high heels become a symbol of power, signifying that they have attained the qualifications to compete with males.

I was perplexed as to whether or not high heels improved women’s life chances. Thus, I have developed a poster and project aimed at examining the practice of wearing high heels and advocating for feminist perspectives.
